Fig 1.3 Layer Interface

Lasso Tool: The Lasso Tool lets you draw and select specific areas of a document. It is well-suited for graphic tablets, as it mimics the feel of a pencil and allows for smoother drawing and selection compared to a mouse or trackpad.

Fig 1.4 How To Use The Lasso Tools

Pen Tool: The Pen Tool is the primary choice for creating paths from scratch, allowing you to add points and shape the path. Fewer points result in a smoother path.

Fig 1.5 Variation Of Pen Tool

Lasso Tools vs Pen Tool
The Pen Tool in Photoshop is versatile for creating precise shapes and paths using manually placed anchor points. While it's often used for selections, it was not originally designed specifically as a selection tool.

Layering: Layers are stacked images that allow for individual adjustments without affecting others, ultimately combining to create a final image .Using layers in Photoshop allows for non-destructive editing, as you can save the file with all layers included. This preserves the original image while containing all additional information and adjustments.
