Final Project Cinemagraphs 'Self-Titled'

For this self-titled task, it is an exploration project for us students to express our own individuality and reflect on our own personality into digital art self-expression. The main idea is to build up self-confidence and discover our interest.

Design Process

I had chose some pictures I have taken this years to be part of my element except for the antenna.

After masking myself out I decide to seperate my upper head to create the design where ray light will come out from it.

I added an antenna beside my head to signify why my head us open up.

After that, I started making composition for my portrait. I mask out some element and make it into a collage.

The upper part looks a bit empty therefor I added sky picture to harmonize the theme and also to fill up the empty space.

I also decided to make a colorful pixelated design/effect on my eyes.

I drew the ray light with pen tool and added the word "connected" to bring it back to the theme

Before wrapping up everything, I added lens flare effect to make the "zap" more realistic.

Final Outcome

After Effect Animating Process

I wanted the cubes to have disappear-appear effect. So I figured out to make it happen by using the opacity in transform.

As for the rock, I wanted to distort it after the antenna appear. I used the bulge effect to make each part distort per second.

For both of the antenna, I kept it simple. Which is to use position and rotation in transformation section.

I also added shooting star animation into it. I searched up on YouTube to find tutorial and came across this one. It's created by pen tool and glow effect.

For the word, I used wave wrap to create a laser wave kind of effect out.

Final Outcome

Antenna:
Antenna explores the balance between individuality and external influences in a hyper-connected world. I am sitting in a surreal landscape as a glowing antenna transmits signals of inspiration and technology into my mind. Smaller, colorful antennas represent diverse sources shaping our thoughts and emotions.
Inspired by post-internet art and experimental styles, this work reflects how ideas and technology influence us, while encouraging viewers to be present, be resilient, and most importantly, be themselves.
