Reflection 

For this project, I learn a lot of fundamental skill of using Adobe Photoshop. The first and most important thing I have learned was composition. There is a lot of things we need to take note of like focus point, hierarchy, balance and etc. I think it was really important to leave white space in composition. I realise this fact while doing both collage task. I did also learned about the difference of each selection tool in Adobe Photoshop. At first I stick with using the quick selection tool. But, on the task there were a big variety things I will need to mask out, so I eventually try using other tools like the Lasso Tool, Magic Wand and etc. I also learned how to mask a layer out which was something I was not used to at first. I ended up mastering it during the Hearst Mansion and Black and White recolouring task.

The exercise proposed may seem easy, but it actually prioritises in mastering our basic skill in typography. Which means we not only have to complete our work, but also make suede we actually understand the practical that we’re assign. For example, Exercise one required us to understand and use the composition principle that were taught in lecture class. For the other exercises, we will need to master the tool of adobe photoshop. It is common for us beginner to struggle at first. But the more we practice, the better we will be in the next task.

I think the entire project one was fun because each of them not only let us practice our skills, but also let us leash out our creativity.

Project 1

Physical Collage Design

For this task, we were ask to prepare magazine, newspaper, glue, etc. We were assigned to make a composition with the element we have found and cut with the material we have. We need to create three composition and pick the best out of it. This is my best and final composition for this task.

Digital Collage Design

For this task, we were required to do the same thing as the previous task, which was to create three composition. The differences is that we are limited to use the picture that was share by Mr Fauzi. All of the composition was done in Adobe Photoshop. The best composition was picked by Mr Fauzi. After that, we have to add some effects and blending option into our composition. This two picture attach is my best composition and final artwork for this task. (Link to Week 3 and Week 4 E-portfolio)

Digital Imaging

For this task, we were required to cut out the picture of Shazam and place it into the hearst mansion. We also have to blend it into the picture which include adding shadow and reflection of Shazam. After that, we are required to use our own picture and cut into the hearst mansion and proceed the same steps. ( Link to Week 5 E-portfolio)

Recoloring Black And White
